A Top 25 Rankings list wouldn’t be enough. I can’t skip on some of the best student sections. Too many student sections to narrow down to just 25. Even with the Top 35, which is random, but these student sections are filled with weirdos, didn’t do enough justice that we had to recognize five of the student sections that were on the outside on the Southland list. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8SjPi5FzEK/?utm_source=ig_embed Thousand Oaks Green Hole, Riverside Poly Den, Sonora Jungle of La Habra,  University Roman Legion of San Diego and Newport Harbor Tarpit of Newport Beach all missed the cut in the final Southern California Rankings, but I’m sure they’re pleased to be ranked high in their region! Without further or due, let’s close out the Basketball Student Section season with the FInal Top 35 Southern California Basketball...

The San Diego Basketball Student Sections were pretty even. Eight student sections had a say for the top spot and those eight had something in common. They all worked a solid social media game. Just some simple marketing work can go a long way and it worked. We also have another eight student sections that weren't ranked in last year's Rankings make their debut this season.  This is a loaded group of student sections in San Diego that five student sections missed the cut to make the Top 25. Student Sections like Rancho Bernardo Stampede of San Diego, Vista Panther Pit, Lincoln Hive of San Diego, Montgomery Aztec Army of San Diego, Eastlake Titan Army of Chula Vista came close and hopefully we’ll see them next season. Enough talk, let’s see who made the Top...
While the student section during basketball season are as fun to watch as the football student sections, it can be challenging. The opening month of the basketball season is mostly made up of tournaments at neutral locations, followed by winter break and while league play begins in January, some student sections need a small break for Finals week. While there were challenges in front of these student sections, no one was disappointed with the student sections this winter. This season, we had seven student sections break in the top 25 after missing out last season, one student section going as high as number six. We had so many student sections battle for their teams and their school and we wish we could mention them all. Student Sections like JSerra Pride of San Juan Capistrano, San...
With SoCal Student Sections in its second year covering student sections, some student sections don’t discover you until late in the season. Some student sections haven’t been told that marketing yourselves on social media is extremely important. Hopefully as we grow, student sections will take note. In the meantime, we can’t punish those student sections, especially the ones my podcast co-host Chris Hulme or myself see in person. This season we have 14 student sections that weren’t in the Top 25 Rankings this season that weren’t there last year. Again, as we are growing and student sections are discovering us, the list will change. With a large number of student sections in the Los Angeles and Ventura areas, some fantastic student section missed the cut. Student sections like the Newbury Park Panther Pit, the Royal...

Last year, the Baseline League had a student section take the Inland Empire Football Student Section of the year title and the IE Basketball Student Section of the year title. This year, the titles shift to the Southwestern League. The Vista Murrieta Bronco Bleacher Creatures took the 2019 Inland Empire Football Student Section title. Will they do the same for Basketball? We’ll find out in a moment. Seven student sections break in the Top 25 this year after missing the cut last year. Some had leaders that were still learning and some didn’t use social media to their benefit or they weren’t aware of the us running the student section game in the Southland.  Things changed this year for those student sections as they discovered social media or just discovered us. We had one student...
Every week, we do the SoCal Student Section of the Week, but it got us thinking, with over 2000 schools in Southern California, why just name one winner? That’s why we will acknowledge four regional winners and any nominees in those regions. We bring you, the SoCal Student Section Regional Student Section of the Week…try saying that five times fast.   INLAND EMPIRE STUDENT SECTION OF THE WEEK BONITA DEN: The Den of La Verne packed the gym last Friday when the Bearcats hosted San Marcos in the second round of the CIF-SS Boys Basketball playoffs. I should mention that they packed the stands 30 minutes before tip-off.  The Den was electric, loud and savage with some chants as the Bearcats had the lead and never looked back.  My favorite part of course was Scott,...
Photo Credits/Lance Pascasio, Nevaeh Mireles   Oxnard has been one of the hottest basketball teams this season. The Oxnard Swarm is no different.  The Swarm has flown in to the stands with the Yellowjackets only losing one game this season. Oxnard is one win away from heading to their first CIF-SS Finals in three years. https://twitter.com/OxnardAthletics/status/1228529730543968256 The Swarm wants to see their Yellowjackets on the main stage and they did their part last week with big wins over Highland of Palmdale and Crean Lutheran of Irvine. Their school spirit and love for their basketball team was more than enough to be a finalist for the final Basketball SoCal Student Section of the Week. The Swarm battled with the Bonita Den of La Verne, Fairmont Prep of Anaheim and Mt. Carmel Red Sea of San Diego....

Both school have had a heated rivalry for awhile, mainly in football, but this matchup was one sided when it came to student sections. While I have to give credit to the Rancho Cucamonga Cheerleaders for stepping up, the Dogpound, otherwise known as the Unit or the U,...
